Mike Counter joined St. Norbert College in 2003 as director of media relations and brought with him 21 years of television and radio broadcasting experience. During his tenure, he connected SNC stories with local, state and national news outlets. Counter is also known for his role in the audiovisual elements of Communications telling SNC stories of faculty, staff, students and alumni via video. He is often also involved in their narration.

He also taught a media class through the Donald J. Schneider School of Business and Economics.
