Michael P. Rosewall has been a member of the St. Norbert College faculty since 1992. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from the University of Minnesota, and received his doctorate in conducting and historical performance practice from Stanford University.

He has taught music theory and history, applied voice and conducting, and directed ensembles in the choral program. He serves as the graduate school advisor for the discipline, and advises a variety of academic and extra-curricular student organizations on campus.

Professor Rosewall has represented northeastern Wisconsin as vice president of the Wisconsin Music Educators Executive Council and served on the board of the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association. He is an active conductor, recitalist and clinician throughout the region, and served as assistant director for the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra for seven years. In 1992, he founded the Green Bay Chamber Choir and served as its artistic director for 12 seasons.

His book, “Directory of Choral-Orchestral Music,” published by Routledge, is a comprehensive index of significant choral literature and a valuable reference resource for professional choral directors and choral music education programs.

Professor Rosewall has served as faculty chair and associate academic dean, and has been honored with the St. Norbert College Educator of the Year Award, the Ledvina Outstanding Teacher Award and the Weakland Award for Community Service.
