John F. Day started at St. Norbert College in 1998 as an assistant professor of Spanish. His research interests included contemporary Costa Rican fiction and the tension between the oral and literate cultural traditions of Costa Rica, and the presence of non-western cultures and perspectives generally in the literature of Latin America. Dr. Day has directed study abroad programs in Ecuador and Costa Rica, in addition to offering students immersion trips to Costa Rica.
