Biography

William Edward Dargan attended Notre Dame University and graduated from Regis University in Denver with a double major in English and Philosophy. He then continued his education at the University of Denver where he received Masters Degrees in both Marketing and Economics. He and his family moved to Erie, Pennsylvania, where he taught at Gannon College for three years. They then moved to De Pere in 1966 where he began teaching at St. Norbert College. While at St. Norbert, he was instrumental in developing the Business Administration Program and Marketing Department. He received many awards during his academic years but was best remembered for his strong influence on the development of many young men and women who went on to become leaders and achievers in the business and professional world. Bill helped students build personal integrity and responsibility. The ROTC program at St. Norbert was very important to him. In 1996 the U. S. Army conveyed to him the Distinguished Service Medal for Civilians, the highest award the army gives to a non-military person. Bill retired from teaching in 1996 and received an honorary Ph. D. from St. Norbert. Source: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/saltlaketribune/obituary.aspx?n=william-e-dargan&pid=15248737
