Biographical / Historical
James Regan joined the philosophy faculty at St. Norbert in 1954. He was a graduate of Regis College in Denver, CO, completed graduate studies at St. Louis University, and attended the University of Colorado and Notre Dame University for post graduate course work. Prior to St. Norbert, Regan taught at Briar Cliff College, Sioux City, Iowa, for three years. Besides serving on various faculty committees, Regan was the director of the general studies program at St. Norbert from 1955-1957 and chaired the philosophy department from 1963-1968. From 1965-1970, Regan served on the Brown County Commission on Human Rights. During his tenure, he regularly lectured to various religious and community groups, area colleges and universities, and local school groups. In 1984, Regan received the Leonard Ledvina Outstanding Teacher Award for excellence in teaching and was named Professor Emeritus in 1989.
