Biographical / Historical
Larry Motiff was a St. Norbert alumnus and joined the college faculty in 1939 as professor of chemistry, completing his graduate studies at UW-Madison in 1951. He also studied at Butler University, Indianapolis and Michigan State University. In addition to his instruction, Larry served as chemist at the De Pere Sewage Treatment Plant for 38 years. His involvement in local industrial sanitation projects included pollution studies for the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewage District treatment plant and the City of Green Bay. He also provided chemical analysis for various local businesses, including bomb and poison analysis for the Green Bay Police Department. Larry’s professional affiliations include membership in the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Midwestern Association of Chemistry Teachers. He was also a member of the National Science Foundation for Grant Selection and was on the National Committee for Testing of the ACS.
